Jubilee Medal "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR"

The Jubilee Medal "50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR" was a Soviet state award established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 26 December 1967 to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Soviet Armed Forces. Its statute covered serving military personnel, several categories of veterans, Heroes of the Soviet Union, full holders of the Order of Glory and other persons associated with national defence and long military service. The mass award programme was linked to the anniversary commemorated on 23 February 1968.
