Medal "For the Capture of Berlin"

The Medal "For the Capture of Berlin" was a Soviet state award established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 9 June 1945. It was awarded to members of the Red Army, Navy and NKVD troops who directly participated in the assault and capture of Berlin, as well as to organizers and commanders of the relevant military operations. The award commemorated participation in one of the final operations of the war in Europe.
