Medal "For the Capture of Königsberg"

The Medal "For the Capture of Königsberg" was a Soviet state award established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 9 June 1945. It was awarded to personnel of the Red Army, Navy and NKVD troops who directly participated in the assault and capture of the fortress city of Königsberg, as well as to organizers and commanders of the operation. It belonged to the Soviet series of medals recognizing the capture of major enemy cities during the final stage of the Great Patriotic War.
