First Place in the Medallic Art Category, Russia. 21st Century Competition (2024)

In 2024, Gokhran of Russia, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, held the jewellery art competition “Russia. 21st Century”. More than 400 applications comprising about 1,200 objects were submitted, and the jury considered works in ten categories.

First place in the “Medallic Art” category was awarded to the Design Center of JSC Goznak and Alexandra Andreevna Chernova for three medals: “Artist Karl Bryullov”, “Sculptor Vasily Demut-Malinovsky”, and “Linguist Andrey Anatolyevich Zaliznyak”. All three works were produced in Saint Petersburg in 2023 in tombac, struck, patinated and artistically cleared; each medal is 60 mm in diameter.

On 29 October 2024, at the opening of Gokhran’s exhibition “Russia — My Love! The Art of Russian Jewellers. 19th–21st Century” at the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812, Chernova received the diploma for first place. The award was presented by competition jury member, professor and Chief Artist of the Design Center of JSC Goznak Alexander Vasilievich Baklanov. Chernova’s three medals were displayed at the final exhibition together with works by other competition laureates.
