Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945"

The Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" was a Soviet state award established by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 9 May 1945 to commemorate victory over Germany. It was awarded to military personnel and civilian staff who directly participated in the war or supported victory through their service and work, as well as to personnel who had left the active forces because of wounds, illness or other circumstances covered by the statute.
