Award
Order of Lenin
The Order of Lenin was the highest state award of the Soviet Union. It was established by a resolution of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR on 6 April 1930, with its statute and description approved on 5 May 1930. It was awarded for exceptionally outstanding services in revolutionary activity, labour, defence of the socialist motherland, friendship and cooperation among peoples, the strengthening of peace, and other exceptional services to the Soviet state and society. The order could be awarded to individuals as well as organizations, military units, territories and other collective recipients.
