Alexander Vasilyevich Vishnevsky (1874–1948) was a Russian and Soviet surgeon, professor, pioneer of Soviet neurosurgery, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and full member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. He developed methods of anaesthesia and septic-wound treatment, including local anaesthesia by creeping infiltrate, novocaine block, and dressings with Vishnevsky liniment.
